We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client, major healthcare industrial player, at their international corporate office in Luxembourg.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering accurate financial reports. Will play a key role in overseeing various financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes. Role reports to Head of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
General Ledger: Day to day accounting including investment portfolios and financial instruments and to take "ownership" of the General Accounting (GL, AP & AR) of the companies assigned. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities, including interim accounts, BCL report, VAT returns both locally and internationally, and others required.
Internal Controls: Develop accounting policies to implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations, implementing best practices to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to secure periodical closing process and provide financial insights and support business objectives.
Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least a relevant one in Luxembourg.
Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements. Knowledge of Luxembourg tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., MS Office with Excel (macros, vlook-up, Pivot,) SAP a real plus).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Fluency in English is mandatory, and any other European language considered a plus
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
